# Jay Popat — Full Stack Engineer

Developer. Builder. Problem solver. Building with TypeScript, Rust, AI and decentralized technologies.

I'm a full-stack engineer based in Ireland, recently graduated from the University of Galway with a First Class Honours BSc in Computer Science. I build end-to-end across TypeScript, Rust and Go, and I'm currently exploring agents and the agentic way of development.

## What I work on

- **Product engineering** — Shipping end-to-end features across backend services and frontends — Java and Spring, TypeScript and Next.js, Angular — on customer-facing platforms in Agile teams.
- **Systems and blockchain** — Rust in production: Substrate and FRAME pallet development, benchmarking, and post-quantum runtime migration work on Polkadot-SDK chains.
- **AI and agents** — Local-first MCP servers, hybrid retrieval over SQLite FTS5, and building tools that make an agentic workflow practical day to day.
